I listen to local bands and I am AMAZED!! WTF?? who hired THEM???

The more I pay attention to local bands...the more I realize what being 'special' is all about. Most of Jax bands are cutting edge, really stellar musicians - BUT - then you have the regular bar bands...showing up drunk...barely singing half the lyrics...and cussing most of the night. Where is the art in that? What saddens me the most is that some bar owner/entertainment director HIRED these losers. Why? Are you seriously thinking the people listening are ENJOYING the drunken IDOL?? Professionalism is not something you can teach. You either aspire to BE professional or you naturally just burn out. If you have a chance to check out some local bands...do so...and THEN come check US out. The difference is HUGE...the payoff is HUGE and the experience will leave you inspired not repulsed. The more the band members DRINK the better they think they sound...and to be quite honest...it really isn't that unusual to hear/see mediocre man with skin tight pants and a microphone. What a cliche'...what a sad sad story...middle-aged people too burned out to remember their dream...yet...they can manage to remember SOME of the lyrics...I propose bar owners spend their money WISELY...CHOOSE the band that makes you dance...then mark them on your  calendar...but the catch is...they have to be genuine. Ask any lead singer of any band if he/she remembers your name...ten minutes after being introduced. 10 out of 10 times they won't...fans should be more than just a face in the crowd...they are and do become your extended family. Take care of your fans...we do...we cherish them!!!
